A Counter-Example

The physics community appears to be convinced that the dark matter is some exotic particle. Macroscopic objects like stellar-mass primordial black holes are given lip service, but not much more by the majority.

Here is a case where the consensus viewpoint may be a bias that is holding back progress. There is a scientific record of many such pitfalls of accepting the consensus viewpoint as the best choice.
