All Demagogues Meet The Same Fate

It may take time, but as the great Abe Lincoln said, “you can’t fool all the people all the time”.

There is an antidote to the narcissistic morons and puppet masters who enable them.

Think like a scientist. Be open-minded but skeptical. Don’t trust one experiment or one source of information. Distrust echo chambers. Insist on definitive predictions followed by multiple and independently confirmed evidence-based tests of the ideas. Think with your brain rather than you gut. No dogma or fixed ideas allowed.

Sure, this takes effort and it can be uncomfortable when one’s preferred ideas are shot down. But the payback is enormous. This offers real freedom of thought. Perhaps it would eventually lead to the wisdom and courage that will be needed to demand systematic change in our societal institutions.

Dr Fauci is a prime example of this desiderata.
