Why, after 45 years of very disappointing results, do we still bow down at the altar of Absolute Scale/Strict Reductionism? Nature is an open book that blatantly calls for Relative Scale/Limited Reductionism.

Why do we have dogged faith in a cosmological paradigm whose prime years are clearly in the past, and whose warts are being covered up with ad hoc fixes? Can this intellectual inertia be overcome by a new generation of physicists with more scientific integrity than their recent predecessors?
