Regarding the criminal economic situation in America (and other countries), Robert Reich's "Inequality For All" (Netflix) explains the development of the problem and how to turn that around (the people must vote more intelligently and demand that the rules of the game change so as to be fair to everyone).

These changes would require wise leaders, well-informed people, and genuine commitment. Not all that likely to happen, but possible.
