ETYMOLOGY OF “NEOLIBERALISM”?
1 min readJun 28, 2017
Why is the agenda of deregulation, small government, lower taxes, free markets and globalization associated with “liberalism”, when it is obviously far closer to the Reagan/Thacher conservatism that has prevailed over recent decades. Taken to extremes over the last decade, it has now landed us on the current brink of disaster.
Why aren’t these trends and principles called neoconservatism, or better yet, alt.conservatism?
Is this another clever marketing technique (dirty trick) of the far right?
To what extent are liberals really accountable for this poorly named movement?
One thing is for sure: everybody but the 1% suffer.
