GALACTIC FRAME-DRAGGING?
What if the galactic rotation curves of spiral galaxies, the spiral arms, luminous baryonic matter, and dark matter are all tightly coupled because the general rotation is due to gravitational frame-dragging? Not enough mass to generate gravitational frame-dragging within galaxies? I beg to differ! A new fractal cosmological paradigm is fully consistent with this hypothesis.
Of course, this would require a serious commitment to the possibility of a major paradigm change in cosmology, and cosmologists are far more inclined toward a “save-the-phenomenon” approach. However, the failure to find WIMPs, the demise of string theory, the rejection of supersymmetry by nature, the “nightmare scenario” unfolding at the LHC, and now this new galactic challenge to the LCDM cosmological Model, just might get people in the mood for some serious and sustained rethinking about possible problems with standard assumptions and models.
