General Relativity is elegant and has been verified extensively.

Why would anyone look to replace GR with something rather ugly, untested , and possible untestable in any definitive and unique manner that could not be arbitrarily fudged for another 40 years.

GR is a theory of principle. It is the finest piece of physics humankind has ever created.

There is a way to understand the physics of the microcosm, and preserve General Relativity. In fact, Discrete Scale Relativity returns GR to the ultimate foundation of the laws and principles that govern the cosmos. We just have to give up our addiction to strict reductionism and absolute scale. Not a bad trade-off for retaining GR and gaining a cosmological paradigm that delivers the goods. http://www.academia.edu/2917630/Predictions_of_Discrete_Scale_Relativity
