Gleiser and Einstein
1 min readMar 20, 2019
When Einstein talked about “Cosmic Religion” he was referring to his awe at the beauty and unity of nature, as manifested, for example, in its conservation principles and symmetries. Einstein’s god was Spinoza’s god, which is nature.
Einstein repeatedly argued against absolutes, ‘received wisdom’, and various forms of supernaturalism.
Einstein referred to himself as a “deeply religious non-believer”.
He was also critical of atheists as often being too dogmatic.
