I took another look at reporting from BBC, NYT, Al Jazeera, etc. to see what was being said about the situation.

Both sides in the struggle accuse the other of attempting a coup. The only certain thing is that the situation is chaotic and could get completely out of hand. If Maduro is not a mini-me Stalin, he does a creditable impression of one. We shall see. I hope I am wrong, and would be willing to admit it if I am wrong. This makes for a good test. What actions on the part of the Maduro government would cause you to doubt his democratic intentions? Or, like G. B. Shaw, would you say anything Maduro does is justified in the name of the Bolivian Revolution?
