I’m with you regarding the “origin” of the cosmos.
Theoretical physicists assure us their theories can generate the entire Universe from essentially nothing in one Grand AHWOOM!, to borrow a bit from Vonnegut. You see it was merely a quantum fluctuation in the vacuum (Hoover, Sears generic or Miele, one wonders).
Of course these are the geniuses who have been promising for 45 years that string theory would lead to testable predictions, that supersymmetry’s “sparticles” would be discovered at a succession of colliders, and that the dark matter absolutely must be imaginary “WIMPs”.
Score of those issues: wrong, wrong and wrong.
The ex nihilo creation of the entire Universe is another creation myth that any decent natural philosopher would regard as a lame joke.
