Over-population has always seemed to me to be "the elephant in the room" that few dared to talk about.
We require so much extraction of resources and destruction of habitat to meet the requirements of our bloated population.
But Attenborough points out that regions that have given people a decent standard of living have seen a remarkable drop in birth rates, down to 2-3 kids per couple. Japan is cited as an example and Europe is another. The humane way to solve the population problem, as Attenborough points out, is by making better education and jobs/wages available for everyone, not just the wealthy and super-wealthy.
Thanks, M Kiera! Will watch"Kiss the Ground".
