Possible Help For Dr. Siegel

In his latest posting Dr. Siegal notes that astrophysicists have no ready explanation for the recent discovery of a supermassive black hole residing in a galaxy and having formed in something on the order of 700 million years. That may seem like a long time, but it conflicts with what is possible in conventional astrophysics.

One possible explanation that an open-minded scientist might consider is that black holes, even supermassive ones, existed before the Big Bounce and can survive the Big Bounce. But then we would have to radically change our thinking on the “early” events within the observable universe. We can’t do that, can we?
