Some Physicists Would Strongly Disagree

Ethan’s summary dismissal of stellar-mass primordial black holes as comprising the dark matter is not accepted by all scientists.

If you read the paper linked in the piece below, you will see that the opposite conclusion can be reached based on observational research and empirical knowledge. The authors of that paper, and the many referenced authors, clearly think that PBHs could explain the dark matter enigma.

When we are faced with a decades old and still unanswered enigma like the true nature of the dark matter, it is not a time to be blithely rule out viable candidates based on very uncertain and assumption-laden reasoning.

As scientists we need to be both skeptical and open-minded. Observational and experimental evidence will be the final arbiter in the case of the dark matter. A rush to judgement based on limited data usually produces mediocre conclusions.
