1. Solving the gun violence problem with more guns, when we are already awash in guns, is a moronic strategy.

2. The 2nd amendment is NOT on the chopping block, no matter what that crackpot Wayne LaPierre and the far right wingnuts dissemble about. The idea is more intelligent regulation of guns. We regulate vehicles and driving; we don’t ban them. We can do much better with the regulation of firearms, while preserving the true intent of the 2nd amendment.

3. Good science listens to all points of view, is evidence-based, tests predictions, and admits when it has been wrong about something. Gut-thinkers seem unable to do any of this.
