What About The Early Universe WAS Expected?

We keep finding mature galaxies at earlier times. We find supermassive black holes (quasars) so close to the putative “creation” event that there does not appear enough time to produce such objects.

Some highly regarded scientists have begun to question whether the current cosmological paradigm, based around the Inflationary Scenario, is valid science or Ptolemaic model-building.

The article by Loeb and Steinhardt linked in the piece below offers cogent criticism of the current paradigm, and interesting thoughts on a competing paradigm that has considerable promise.
