Wrong Umair, The US Is Not Collapsing
The majority of Americans do not think everything is OK, and the number is growing daily!
Trump lost the popular vote by something on order of, 3,000,000 votes. He was selected by the Electoral College contraption.
The key issue is how 40–45% of the people can elect a moron-in-chief like Trump, a sphincter-of-congress like McConnell, etc. To understand that you need to do a deep dive into the Koch network, Robert Mercer’s far-right organization, the Federalist Society, a large number of tax-avoiding far-right “think tanks” and lobbying institutions, decades of gerrymandering and voter suppression by the GOP, the influence of our foreign enemies of democracy, etc.
The problem is not the American form of government, its Constitution, or the majority of its people. It is not the fault of capitalism, if we are talking about the form of capitalism practiced in the Scandinavian countries (esp. Finland).
The problem is a tiny majority of super-rich oligarchs who want the US to become a libertarian plutocracy and who have worked very hard, and spent billions, over the last half-century to realize their nasty dreams.
I would recommend that you do some due diligence and read Jane Mayer’s book Dark Money, slowly and carefully. You would learn a lot about the real America and how we got here, rather than decrying the superficial straw-man vision you portray..
