Hundreds of billions of MACHOS have been observed or empirically inferred. There are at least as many MACHOs in a galaxy as there are stars in a galaxy.

The number of WIMPs, sparticles, axions, sterile neutrinos, etc that have been observed or empirically inferred is exactly zero.

While the abundance of MACHOs has steadily increased over the last two decades, the number of exotic dark matter particles has remained rock-steady at zero.

What is more likely: that we have yet to determine the full abundance of MACHOs, or that particle dark matter will miraculously show up after being AWOL for about four decades?
